[...] d. ) I have not met a person who has something valuable to share with others who is not good at and obsessed with reading. The source of wisdom is in ancient writings. Valuable people who have valuable stuff to share have always found reading to be an essential mode of learning and acquiring knowledge- an indisputable source of wisdom. The better you are at reading, the more you are able to read, and the more you expand your horizon. The more ideas and wisdom you are able to get yourself acquainted with, the more valuable you will become in the process. I once heard the late Jim Rohn allude to the fact that persistent reading caused him not only to understand this life better, but also to make the right choices in life. He recommends reading at least two good books every week. Do that for a year and watch your knowledge expand and life transformed. You have also heard the cliche, “readers are leaders.” It took me a while to grasp this truth, but once I got it, I held on to it, and I am so glad today, for it has majorly improved my life. Some few years ago, I couldn’t write a sentence correctly in English language. Now, what do you think about the way I write? Not professional yet, but not also poor. This is an example of what avid reading does. On Glen Stansberry’s blog, the benefits of reading is well written about. [...]
