I think we manufacture a lot of our joy by watching a certain movie or eating comfort food. We don't need those things. We can create something cool and share it with the rest of the world. Over programmed children don't have an opportunity to experience their inner creativity. Even for pre-schoolers these days, life can be a long series of events and activities planned for them by other people. Children of all ages need a chance to see what emerges from within them when nothing else is going on. I would add one more thing to this list: time.
