God complex? No, better call it a manifestation of an inferiority complex. It's just the way of a human to react to his disability of accepting his smallness.

People are small: There are two options - To accept it or not. Better accept it or live a live in anger and hate.

How to understand your size? Get out there and for once step out of the routine-perception. Watch the sky - the stars: Did you ever notice that they were there? Watch the people walking in the city - Each one of them has one special life, just like you and there are millions of people that you will never know.

And in the end, how could someone be god when he doesn't even have power over his self?

I agree with just about everything you've said, but I can't go along with “we're all awesome.” There are puh-LENTY of people who wouldn't know awesome if they fell into a swimming pool of it. I'm not talking only about the career criminals, pedophiles, and other outright losers, but also about the timid, conventional, conformist, lazy dullards that America churns out by the millions. It's not the “nice” thing to say, but an awful lot of people would achieve their highest and best purpose as fertilizer.

Ouch–I was feeling smug…until I hit #2. Then 4, 7 and 8. Rats. I hate it when I'm not the superior being I really try to be! :P (Ahem. Lest you think I left out #6…it's not anyone else I must be superior to…it's me. The me I was yesterday. Must…be…better…MUST…be…BETTER! ;))

I've been guilty of believing that my ideas are better than others, especially in my early twenties. I hate to admit this, but it helps my point. I used to tell people that I was a genius. A note – if you have to tell people that you are a genius then it becomes ego stroking. People believe actions, not just words.

I believe I've come along way and realize that I'm no better than anyone else, I just have to work harder than they do to reach my goals.
