Helping Creative People Create

A Couple of Changes on LifeDev

Just a quick note to let you all know that I’ve installed the Disqus commenting system on the blog. It’s a huge improvement in the fact that we can have threaded comments, avatars, and other nice cosmetic things.

So give it a test drive and leave a comment below!

Also, LifeDev has joined 9 Rules (see leaf in sidebar). My first love will always be LifeRemix, but who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too? :) The 9 Rules guys have graciously invited me into the club, and have also relaunched their network to become more like LifeRemix, ironically. Other LifeRemix blogs that have recently joined include  DumbLittleMan and LifeClever.

(Oh, and don’t forget to check out LifeDev Links if you already haven’t. Good stuff, man. Good stuff.)

Ditto. Leaving comments is now fun! :)

Glen, kudos on the 9 Rules affiliation.

Your post is well timed, as I was just looking at Disqus this morning and trying to decide if I gained enough to be worth the switch.

What made it worth your while?

I'll be interested in hearing if it works as well as you hope.

Well, the fact that it allows threaded conversation was a nice thing to add, and the user interface is 10x better than the default WordPress comment system.

But the main selling point is that basically everyone I've heard of who uses it has had a huge bump in comment interaction (like 300%). That's encouraging ;)

That is pretty encouraging, Glen. I'm going to try it. Thanks for the info!

Oh, and forgot to add one more thing: All of your comments can be aggregated into one place. For example, my Disqus page has all of my comments across blogs that use Disqus:

    Looks good to me.

I, for one, welcome our new commenting overlords

Now you have me trying Disqus. :)

Glad to hear it! Found out another interesting thing… even though it's a javascript app, it's still readable to search engines (thanks to tying into the WP API's)

hi very nice your site's contents. If this is a nice sharing. Thanks, but for my country because there is no content sites like yours as I would always follow the most liked sites like these and I'm waiting for new issues and explanations.
