Being Creative With the Most Common Medium: Food

being creative with foodSometimes there’s no better way to learn than to see a master at work. Take chef Grant Achatz and his interesting creations of food as a case study.

Grant is constantly making new dishes that defy conventional tastes. His creations contain strange concoctions such as soy sauce and chocolate, or olives in desert. And he’s actually considered a culinary genius. Personally, I think he’s a genius because he actually gets people to pay to eat his food! Ahh… I’m just kidding :)

The real lesson that can be taken away from this is that Grant uses one of the most common mediums in history: food. It’s something that everybody uses multiple times per day. Yet he is constantly trying new ideas and creating unique dishes that help us look at food in a new light daily.

So don’t go thinking that you’ve already exhausted all of the available ideas/possibilities/solutions to whatever it is you’re working on. I guarantee there are plenty more. It just takes a little ingenuity.

Check out this video of Grant in the kitchen creating some of his incredible dishes. His passion for what he does makes you appreciate his work even more. It’s a breath of fresh air for anyone needing some creative inspiration.
