Track Your Running Progress Online

comments

My friend enlightenend me to running 2.0.  Gone are the days of hopping in the car and relying on the trusty odometer to calculate milage from my runs.  Now you can use a Google Maps mashup and track your routes online with FavoriteRun.

track running progress onlineFavoriteRun has a lot of functionality that is sure to help runners.  You can map and save your routes, as well as track your running with a calendar.  For those of you who like the GPS, you can download/upload files to track your route as well. Pretty nifty.

Oh, and it’s not limited to runners either.  Bicyclists and walkers are welcome too.

The only thing I have against the site is the ugly design.  Hopefully, this will improve over time.

Anybody else know of some running sites that allow you to track your progress?

Another site to checkout is MapMyRun. We have the basic route stuff as well as 3D integration into googleEarth, elevation profiles, abilty to share your routes with friends/family/training parnters/etc. Check it out and drop me a note using the feedback link! -kevin

I have tried a few different websites like this. My biggest pet peeves are the abundance of unnecessary features, out of control advertising, and the emphasis that is placed on maps. Maps are great because they allow you to calculate distance without driving around in your car but do you need to see a map every time you login?

I created http://trackyourruns.com with those pet peeves in mind.

Check it out… I hope you enjoy it.
