(I’ve covered the FaviconizeTab extension before.)  PermaTab will save tabs as permanent, so they’ll never be shut down.  Example uses: Meebo, Gmail, etc.  Then, once you’ve got them set, use Faviconize to shrink the browser tab real estate to a fraction of what it was.  Pretty nifty, and quite handy for the uber geek.
